The Oklahoma Recreational Therapy Association (ORTA) was incorporated in 2018 as the state of Oklahoma and surrounding regions professional association. ORTA is a proud chapter affiliate of the American Therapeutic Recreation Association (ATRA). ORTA was awarded ATRA's prestigious Chapter Affiliate of the Year in 2018. OUR MISSION: We support, advocate, and lead Recreational Therapists to improve lives. OUR VISION: We envision Health and Wellness attainable by all through Recreational Therapy. GUIDING PRINCIPLES: We believe in evidence based practice, uniting Recreational Therapists in Oklahoma and the region, mentoring and developing professionals,advocating for Recreational Therapists and individuals we serve, providing resources for promoting health and wellness, and a systematic process for delivering Recreational Therapy.
